Program Description

For more than 15 years, Universidad Antonio de Nebrija en España, Madrid has hosted students from all over the world. Every effort is made to integrate international students into daily university life. International students have access to all activities and general services (libraries, computer labs, sports facilities, etc.) and all extra-curricular activities as well.

Nebrija is a small university (around 2800 students) and it is noted for giving students individual attention. The University has a Centre exclusively dedicated to the teaching of Spanish Language and Culture.

Nebrija is located in Madrid with one campus in town (in the university area) and one in a natural park on the outskirts of city. Madrid is the center of government, home of the Spanish Parliament (las Cortes), the Spanish Stock Exchange (la Bolsa), and an important cultural and educational center.

Madrid is known as an artistic centre and as a city with intense cultural activity and an active nightlife. Madrid has over 3 million inhabitants. The character of the madrileños is known to be open and hospitable. Madrid is a city made up of immigrants from diverse origins, and this means that no one feels like a stranger for long. In July and August the temperatures can reach 33ºC (90ºF). Madrid has the highest number of cloudless days of any European capital. The program fee includes a monthly travel pass which allows students unlimited use of public transportation throughout the city. A dinner and flamenco show are also included.

Nebrija University Hispanic Studies Programs include complementary activities such as movies, guided walks through old Madrid, visits to the Prado Musem, Archaeological Museum, Royal Palace, Senate, Congress, etc.

Students participating in the summer program can opt to spend a long weekend enjoying the sights and cultural attractions of Barcelona for an additional fee.
