Diversity Abroad Honors Scholarship Program
The Diversity Abroad Honors Scholarship Program (DAHSP) is for SUNY undergraduates participating in a SUNY sponsored program. See below for information regarding the application process, eligibility criteria and selection criteria. The SUNY deadline dates for Winter Session 2017 have not yet been released.
Typically Winter Session deadlines are mid-September, please check back soon.
The Application Process:
- Complete the Application Form. (Please note, the 2016-2017 Application has not yet been released, but you can see a sample of last year's form here: Application Form)
- Obtain one (1) faculty or department recommendation. (Please note, the 2016-2017 Application has not yet been released, but you can see a sample of last year's form here: recommendation)
- Submit completed application and recommendation letter in sealed envelope to:
Office of International Programs and Services (OIPS) Student Services Building, 2nd Fl, Room 212
Eligibility Criteria:
- GPA: 3.25 minimum
- Candidate has been accepted into a SUNY sponsored study abroad program or internship eligible for credit by Purchase
- Candidate is a U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien and New York State resident.
Selection Criteria: The Diversity Abroad Honors Scholarship Program aims to support a broad range of backgrounds who will contribute to the diversity of the student body in education abroad, including but not limited to:
- Student's academic performance
- Student's financial need as defined by federal guidelines
- Students with diverse ethnic backgrounds
- Students with disabilities
- Students with diverse gender identities
- Students who are first-generation to attend college
